We dance once a month on a Saturday at various locations and (typically) the second Wednesday of every month at 3403 Winston Boulevard in Wilmington, NC.

Bring a friend or come solo. No partner needed!

Contra dance is a community social dance similar to square dancing and is based on English, Irish, and Scottish country dancing. Dances are built around a few easy-to-learn basic steps. A caller teaches each dance first without music, and then continues to call the moves along with the music. After a series of dance steps, the dance couples move up or down the set so that you are always dancing with different people. Throughout the evening, you will meet just about everybody at the dance!
